Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal (Crock Pot Recipe)

You could make this recipe in your sleep—really. The magic happens when you place the ingredients into a slow-cooker and head to bed. You’ll be greeted in the morning with a warm, aromatic breakfast.

Prep Time: 0
Cook Time: 7-8 hours
Serves: 6-8


6 cups water
2 cups steel cut oats
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup dried blueberries (optional)


1. Combine all the ingredients in the crock-pot and stir until combined.
2. Cook for 7-8 hours on low.
3. Stir thoroughly before serving with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.
4. Serve immediately with a splash of milk or sprinkle of brown sugar.

Good to know:

Leftovers can be stored in Tupperware in the refrigerated for 3-4 days. Reheat when desired.
