Oil and Vinegar Dressing

They say that oil and vinegar don’t mix, but they sure do taste terrific together on a salad or as a meat marinade. This recipe only takes a couple of minutes, but maybe that’s for the best; these two ingredients don’t like spending too much time together.

Prep Time: 3-5 minutes
Cook Time: 0
Serves: 12


3/4 cup olive oil
5 tablespoons white wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste


1. Combine all the ingredients in a jar and shake or mix with a fork or a whisk in a medium bowl.
2. Optional: Chill in the refrigerator for 10-20 minutes before serving over a salad or using as a chicken marinade.

Good to know:

If you are lacking time or ingredients, you can simply mix up a little olive oil and a little vinegar to make an equally tasty dressing.
