Even though breakfast is everyone’s favorite meal to skip, more and more studies have shown that breakfast is the last meal you want to skip. For example, Johns Hopkins says that if you skip breakfast, you’ll have trouble concentrating, and you’ll be tempted to snack on foods that are high in fat and sugar. This can lead to weight gain and that mid-morning slump we all hate.

Even though you might have to forego an extra ten or fifteen minutes of sleep, it’s important to start your day off right by getting some food into your system. Here are five recipes to help you make that task enjoyable. You can even prepare a few of them before you need them (like the night before) by pre-chopping the vegetables or throwing the ingredients into the crock pot or the refrigerator, so breakfast will be ready the moment your alarm clock wakes you up.

Note: Recipes with an asterisk (*) beside them may require slightly above average dedication to ingredients or process.
